Cities of love: Marseilles, I love you
Hey ... pssst
Paris, New York and Rio de Janeiro have all had their day. Today, it’s Marseille that is starring with its project Cities of Love: Marseilles, I love you.
Marseille is an open-air film set. Now is the time to express your desire to declare your love to the most beautiful city in the South! The Hotel Saint Louis has been this for years and the story of love continues…
A blend of countryside and city, Marseille’s heart is one of balance. Light, southern warmth, mineral landscapes, the sensuality of the Mediterranean: Marseille is the eternal bridge between Europe and Africa. The heart of the Mediterranean.
It is also a film city, from Pagnol to Kad Merad, from Borsalino to The French Connection. And, of course, we won’t mention the tour de force Plus Belle la Vie !
It’s absolutely logical, then, that Marseille is now part of the Cities of Love movement.
The Cities of Love creative concept
The creative concept has already been tried and tested, with films like Paris, je t’aime in 2006, New York, I love you in 2011 and Rio, eu te amo in 2014.
These films evoke a specific type of universal love: a city recognised internationally for its definitive character and influence.
The story is based on a series of short films directed by renowned directors followed by local writer-directors. These latter, 10 in total, shall be selected on the basis of a scriptwriting competition.
“Marseille, je t’aime” is scheduled for release at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2018.
